MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE OAK PARK TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2021, CONDUCTED IN-PERSON AND ELECTRONICALLY.
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Clerk DaToya Burtin-Cox called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the meeting was conducted in-person and electronically. On the call of the roll the following participated: Supervisor Clarmarie Keenan, Trustees Margaret Trybus, Ade Onayemi, Eric Davis, Tim Thomas, and Clerk DaToya Burtin-Cox. Township Manager, Gavin Morgan, Wendy Senger, Oak Park Township Communication Specialist, and Attorney, John Garofalo attended in-person. Senior Services Director Pamela Mahn, Mary Anne Ojeda of Senior Services, April Dugal of General Assistance, Kim Henry of Oak Park Township and CMHB Executive Director, Cheryl Potts also participated in the meeting electronically.

APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA
Trustee Eric Davis moved to approve the Consent Agenda, including the Minutes of the October 12, 2021, Regular Board of Trustees Meeting, and Township bills for period of October 12, 2021 through October 26, 2021. Trustee Margaret Trybus seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
BRANDING PROJECT- CONSULTANT PRESENTATION
Presentation by Nancy Morris, Branding Consultant
Purpose of Branding Revamping –
- Improve Township image in community
- Move toward Proactive Brand Management
o Consistency of brand
o Key message
- Seeking to remove Stigma of image
Board Comments
Trustee Eric Davis concerned Board was not actively involved with development of External Messaging and Creation of Brand Image.
Trustee Margaret Trybus Message to include Township goal of inclusivity.
- Recommendation of Website revamp to make navigation easier.
o Costly project but believes it should be considered
o Recommended process map provided
- Logo (Samples)
o #1 -showing flow; color shows diversity; prairie design reflects community.
o #2 – strength message; conceptual design of tree; tree resonates with community; color exemplifies diversity.
o #3 – name recognition; acronym for name; color not as diverse but vibrant; oak leaf included in design to reflect community.
Board Comments
Trustee Ade Onayemi – Comment on the technical aspect of the designs
Supervisor Keenan – Indicated dislike of #3 due to the coloring suggesting the possibility of becoming outdated.
Trustee Eric Davis – Commented on the Technical aspects of the logos design. Indicated that #2 had the most technical accuracy.
Trustee Tim Thomas – commented that he appreciated #3 due to its ability to connect with a younger generation.
**After discussion Board agreed the #2 was best start for the logo. Made recommendation for the Consultant to take to the designer. Board suggested tweaks to design and lettering.
** Board suggested that Consultant incorporate Boards ideas/language
Board will provide suggests to Township Manager to share with Consultant
DOCUMENT RETENTION POLICY
- Township Manager and Clerk still working on formalizing a plan. Project looks to be bigger than anticipated
- Plan will include paper document and digital policy
2020 TOWNSHIP FISCAL RPT/TREASURER’S RPT
- Report have not been filed as of yet. Extension was filed.
o Extension through November
- Auditor will present at next Board Meeting
2021 PROPERY TAX LEVY
Board in favor of following the Option C formula for determining the 2021 tax levy.
- Option C include $72,000 reduction for the 2020 unintended increase

NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Oak Park Township Board of Trustees will be a Regular Board of Trustees Meeting conducted electronically among Board members at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 7 pm at the Township Office locate at 105 S. Oak Park, Ave, Oak Park, IL.
