2020 Reassessment of Oak Park Properties
Oak Park Properties to be Reassessed
Update: Effective March 13, 2020, reassessment appeals will be conducted via phone instead of in-person to protect taxpayers and Township staff from potential spread and the health risk of the coronavirus. Please see the information above and call 708-383-8005 if you need to request time for assistance with your appeal. Thank you for your patience and flexibility.
At the end of February, the Cook County Assessor’s office mailed notices of reassessment to all Oak Park property owners. In these notices, the county assessor will propose an assessed value for local properties, which will be used to calculate property taxes over a three-year period starting in the year 2021.
Once the reassessment notices are mailed, local property owners will have forty days, until April 7th, to contest the proposed values by filing an appeal. During that forty-day appeal period, Oak Park residents who wish to appeal and need help doing so can call the Oak Park Township Assessor’s office at 708-383-8005; there will be extra staff members ready to help all who need it.
