Volunteers Sought for Oak Park Township Committees

Township seeks applicants for the Youth Services, Senior Services and
Community Mental Health Board advisory committees

 

Effective September 2019, Oak Park Township is seeking residents interested in serving on the Youth Services, Senior Services or Community Mental Health Board advisory committees. Applications are available at https://oakparktownship.org/committees/, at the Township office, 105 S. Oak Park Ave., and on request by calling 708-383-8005.  Interested residents should have a special interest in, and experience with, youth, older adult or mental health needs in our community.

The Youth Services committee meets the first Wednesday of each month to be updated on Youth Services activities and to advise the Township board on funding local agencies that sponsor programs for youth specifically programs that focus on the transition years, grades 5th-9th.  The Senior Services Committee meets frequently and monitors and makes recommendations about services and programs for older adults.  The Community Mental Health Board meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month and provides financial support to local agencies in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder.
