Megan Traficano Named Youth Services Director

On March 5th, 2019, Oak Park Township Manager Gavin Morgan announced that Megan Traficano will be joining Oak Park Township as Youth Services Director on March 19, 2019. Megan has worked for 10 years at the Hometown Campus of Joseph Academy, a therapeutic day school serving special education students. She has been Assistant Principal and Clinical Coordinator there for the last seven years. Megan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and School Social Worker. Megan is trained to work with individuals and groups dealing with crisis and trauma, self-harming behaviors, substance use/abuse, anger management, and grief and loss.
At Joseph Academy Megan was responsible for maintaining a caseload of students ranging from 8 to 22 years old and she provided clinical supervision to social workers and supervised staff, special education teachers, classroom assistants, and social work interns on campus. She also developed positive working relationships with school district personnel, parents, and outside agency representatives.
Megan grew up in Oak Park and graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School. She has a B.A. in Social Welfare and Justice from Marquette University and a Masters in Social Work from Loyola University, Chicago.
