MINUTES OF THE 116TH ANNUAL TOWN MEETING OF OAK PARK TOWNSHIP
HELD TUESDAY, APRIL 10, 2018 AT OAK PARK TOWNSHIP SENIOR SERVICES,
130 S. OAK PARK AVENUE, OAK PARK, ILLINOIS
CALL TO ORDER
Clerk Gregory White called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. and led the audience in the
Pledge of Allegiance.
ADOPTION OF MEETING RULES
Clerk White read the Procedures For Annual Meeting Rules as follows:
When speaking, the speaker should address the issue. All qualified electors
will be allowed to speak before any non-residents are recognized.
When a non-resident speaks, it will be solely at the discretion of the
Moderator.
Once an elector has spoken, he/she will not be recognized a second time
until any other elector wishing to speak has been heard. The second time
an elector speaks, he will be doing so at the Moderator’s discretion.
ANNUAL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Clerk White shared copies of the FY18 Annual Financial Statements for all Township
funds with the electors present at the meeting.
TOWNSHIP YEAR IN REVIEW
Annual reports highlighting main services and topics within the Township departments
were provided by Township Manager Gavin Morgan and departmental directors, who
also answered questions from electors on specific topics of departmental services.
Detailed yearly written reports for Township services are available to the public in the
Clerk’s Office.
ELECTION OF MODERATOR
Wendy Senger nominated Ade Onayemi as Moderator of the meeting. When no other
nominations were given, John Garofalo moved to elect Ade Onayemi as the Moderator of
the Meeting. John Barrett seconded the motion which passed unanimously by a voice
vote. Clerk White then administered the oath of office to Ade Onayemi.
RESOLUTIONS
John Barrett moved to approve the Resolution Re: Gun Storage, which was submitted
to the Clerk as an Agenda item for placement on the November 6, 2018 General Election.
John Troelstrup seconded the motion which passed unanimously by a voice vote.
Alie Elsaffar moved to adopt the Resolution Re: Property Record System. Sandra
Sokol seconded the motion which passed unanimously by a voice vote.
Pat McAnony moved to set the time for the 2019 Annual Town Meeting of the Oak Park
Township for April 9, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. John Troelstrup seconded the motion which
passed unanimously by a voice vote.
Copies of the above resolutions are attached to and made a part of these minutes.
Supervisor Keenan thanked all electors and stakeholders for their attendance at the
meeting, and encouraged them to converse with Township Board and staff members.
She also encouraged electors to apply for membership on the newly formed Township
Advisory Committee.
ADJOURNMENT
Pat McAnony moved to adjourn at 7:38 p.m. William Troyer seconded the motion which
passed unanimously by a voice vote.
