First Installment Tax Bills are Due March 1
First installment property tax bills for tax year 2023 were mailed at the end of January, 2024, according to Oak Park Township Assessor Ali ElSaffar. “Property taxes are paid in two installments. The first installment is fifty-five percent (55%) of a property's total tax bill for the previous year, and will be due on March 1, 2024,” ElSaffar said.
Elected Officials and Board Meetings
Oak Park Township is governed by an independently elected Township Board of Trustees. The Township Board consists of the Township Supervisor and four Trustees, elected at large from the township. The Clerk and Assessor are elected simultaneously with the Board. The Assessor does not vote. The Township Clerk votes only in the case of a tie vote to fill a vacancy in a township office.
