What We’re Doing

We are confronting the problem of underage drinking in our community. Since 2010, 8th through 12th graders in Oak Park and River Forest have reported consuming alcohol at rates that have been consistently higher than their peers statewide. In addition to educating the community about this reality, we are developing a series of communication campaigns that incorporate evidence-based strategies to most effectively address this issue.

Our strategy is based on a two-year communitywide assessment that includes Illinois Youth Survey data, one-on-one interviews, focus groups, and community surveys.
