The Oak Park Historic Commission informed the Township that our new Senior Services building located at 130 S Oak Park Ave will receive with the 2012 Historic Preservation Award on November 13. The architect, Frank Heitzman and the contractors, Construction Solutions will also receive an award. For more information click here.
Congratulations to John Williams, Youth Services Director, for winning the NAMI Illinois 2012 Heroes Award. He will receive the award under the category of Education/ Katie Petray Excellence in Education along side Tom Johnson, for Co-facilitating the Illinois Crisis Intervention Team Training Program. Cook County property tax bills this year will be mailed in late June and should be due August 1. This will mark the earliest mailing date and due date for second installment tax bills in more than thirty years.
Oak Park Township has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Fiscal Year 2013 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Oak Park Township has received the GFOA award each year since 2003 for its budget presentation and 2006 for its audit presentation. GFOA review over the years has found each document deserving of the “highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting... a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”
