Public Hearing Rescheduled to December 19th, 2017

Property Tax Levy Ordinance for FY 2017 to be Presented

The Board meeting originally scheduled for December 12th, 2017 has been moved to Tuesday, December 19th 2017.  The Public Hearing on the Fiscal Year 2017 Property Tax Levy Ordinance will take place at the December 19th meeting in the boardroom of Oak Park Township at 105 S. Oak Park Avenue.

The Board of Trustees of Oak Park Township voted unanimously at the October 24th, 2017 meeting to pass a tentative property tax levy ordinance of 2.5% increase over last year’s levy extension, based on projections presented to the Board by Township Manager Gavin W. Morgan and the property tax limitation law of the State of Illinois.

The 2.5% increase represents $4,804,061 levied upon all property subject to taxation within the Township as that property is assessed and equalized, in order to meet and defray all the necessary expenses and liabilities of the Township.

The final levy proposal will be presented and voted on at the December 19th, 2017 Board meeting.  There will also be a public hearing on the property tax levy, with the Board considering adoption following the public hearing.  For more information, please call (708) 383-8005. The tentative levy ordinance is available here on the Township’s website.
