Jack Stockman Illustrations On Display During December 2017

Jack Stockman has illustrated more than 20 children’s books including The Advent Book, which originated as his family’s favorite tradition.  He also illustrated magazine covers, posters and ads for hundreds of major companies.  He loves to work with all mediums, including fiber, clay and wood.

The eidetic visions that came from Jack Stockman’s imagination as a child were a major inspiration for his art.  He tries to capture that wonder, hoping that it will touch a chord that resonates with the child in everyone.  He strongly believes that a childlike image done with skill, creativity, dignity and verity is universal and will be enjoyed by all.

Here in Oak Park, Jack has painted murals at West Suburban Hospital, Longfellow School, Sears Pharmacy, and on the walls along the Metra tracks.

This exhibit is presented in partnership with the Oak Park Area Arts Council and is at the Senior Services Building, 130 S. Oak Park Avenue until December 29th, 2017.
