Human Resource Coordinator - Part-Time

Oak Park Township is seeking a part-time Human Resource Coordinator to serve as a member of the Human Resources team to help the Township achieve its HR mission of:  1) retention and recruitment of employees, 2) training, development and education to promote individual success and increase overall value to the organization, 3) creating a safe, diverse, and healthful working environment, and 4) effective communication on personnel issues. 

The Human Resource Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Performing HR administration work including record-keeping and file maintenance
  • Coordinating and/or providing various staff trainings and initiatives
  • HRIS data entry and other HR functions as needed
  • Ensuring company-wide compliance with all rules and regulations

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, public administration, business administration or related field and two years’ experience in an HR/administrative position.  Experience with HR databases, applicant tracking systems and HRIS systems is also required.  Past employment with or knowledge of non-profit or government organizations is helpful.

Oak Park Township is a unique unit of Oak Park local government, providing human services to many more vulnerable citizens of our community: at-risk youth needing guidance to improve their chances for a successful life, senior citizens needing support to maintain their independence and financially struggling residents who need monthly assistance and job seeking help. In addition, the Township provides funding for mental health agencies and assistance with property tax inquiries and appeals.

Part-Time Information & Assistance Specialist

Oak Park Township Senior Services is seeking a part-time (25 hours per week) Information & Assistance Specialist.  Primary responsibilities of this job include:

  • Researching, collecting, and updating resources available to assist older adults and adults with disabilities
  • Providing information to older adults, adults with disabilities, and their family members about community programs and services available to enhance their quality of life
  • Assessing consumer needs and linking them to the appropriate resources
  • Educating the public regarding the various services available to older adults and adults with disabilities
