The mission of the Oak Park Township Administration is to provide professional public administration in a responsive, effective and efficient manner utilizing available resources.

Township Supervisor

The Township Supervisor is the chief executive officer of the Township.  The Supervisor also serves as Supervisor of General Assistance and is chairperson and a voting member of the Township Board. The Supervisor has numerous financial reporting responsibilities, and is the treasurer of all township funds. In Oak Park Township, many of the operational duties of Township Supervisor are delegated by the Supervisor to the Township Manager and other staff such as the General Assistance Administrator.

Supervisor duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supervising the implementation of the Township Board of Trustees' policies and programs
  • Maintaining enforcement of all laws and ordinances of the Township
  • Appointing all committee members with the advice of the Board of Trustees
  • Serving as chairman of the Township Board

Township Manager

The Oak Park Township Manager serves as Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day operational functions of the Township. The Manager is directly responsible and accountable to the Township Supervisor.

Manager duties and responsibilities include:

  • Financial Management (preparing the levy and budget, financial reporting and accounting, and purchasing)
  • Human resource management
  • Information technology
  • Administrative support and assistance to the Township Supervisor and Board of Trustees
